Air Plant Care Instructions
✨ A Guide to Loving Your Air Plant ✨
Welcome to the wonderful world of Tillandsia! These enchanting, soil-free plants are incredibly easy to grow, needing just a little bit of care, light, and fresh air to thrive.
Your air plant loves to bask in bright, indirect sunlight. Think of a sun-drenched room or a cozy windowsill protected by a sheer curtain. Avoid hot, direct sun rays, as they can easily scorch and dry out the delicate leaves.
Even though they don't live in soil, air plants still love a good drink!
- The Weekly Bath: Every 7 to 10 days, treat your plant to a refreshing soak in room-temperature water for 20 to 30 minutes.
- A Light Refresh: If your indoor air feels a bit dry, give them a gentle misting with a spray bottle between baths.
- The Golden Rule: After watering, gently shake off any excess droplets and lay your plant upside down on a towel to dry completely. It should be fully dry within 4 hours to keep its center healthy and prevent rot.
- Room to Breathe: Always display your plant in a beautiful, open space with plenty of air circulation. (Never plant it in soil, and skip closed glass terrariums)!
- Cozy Temperatures: They are happiest in warm spaces between 60°F and 86°F (15°C to 30°C). Keep them safe from freezing frost and intense, direct heat sources.
During the warm growing seasons of spring and summer, you can give your plant a little energy boost. Once a month, mix a weak, highly diluted liquid bromeliad or air plant fertilizer directly into their bath water.
